Today we are visiting Yaxha and Tapoxte this site was discovered in 1904 by architect Teobert Maler. Again situated within the national park system is an amazing Mayan site to visit were you can spend as much time with very little contact with other people.

We toured the site and then visiting one of the surrounding islands on the lake to see one of the Mayan villages. We then enjoyed wine and snacks as we watched the sunset on another amazing Guatemala day.  Enjoy the photos.

A shot of one of the many species of flowers found all round our lodge.

Great info and shots, James! Just viewing the scenery and the warm camaraderie helps to mitigate the bitter cold we are experiencing here. Thanks for sharing so that others can travel along with you vicariously. Greetings to all of you adventurous Trekkers.
