Scotland Blog - Friday June 6th, 2014 - Oban - Inveraray - Luss - Erskine Bridge
After a busy 12 days of Island hopping we are back near Glasgow in Erskine Bridge for our last two nights of the tour. Taking our time and making plenty of photo stops we traveled the last leg capturing a herd of highland cows, amazing reflections, valleys and castles.
Tomorrow we will be spending the entire day in Edinburgh. Our day will kick off with a visit to King Mary’s Close. Here you descend under the the streets of Edinburgh to see the past.
Tonight’s selection of images has a nice variety of images from our travel across the highlands of Scotland. Good night from Erskine Bridge, near Glasgow.
This morning coming out of Oban we came across this herd of Highland Cows.
A wide shot down by the water.
Jacqui and Don capturing a few images of the Highland Cows.
More of the cows in the water ... is this how corned beef is prepared????
Come in the water is veally warm!
Sunbathing after their swim.
Reflections in one of the loch’s as we drove towards Inveraray.
Inveraray Castle ... for the Downton Abby fans this was the summer house in last season’s show.
The gardens at Inveraray Castle offers some beautiful opportunities.
Scotch pine offers great foreground for the castle images.
This one’s for you Patti ... do you remember a wet day in August and a few photos at this location???
Lupins and the castle in the background.
The rear gardens of the castle, this was a 6 shot panoramic.
More beautiful flowers from the castle gardens.
The clematis in full bloom,
A great example of blurring the background to make a colourful backdrop.
The grass works well too.
More about this photo later ....
Today was a great mixture of blue sky and cloud ... it was in the mid 20’s today.
Two beautiful dogs posing with the Inveraray Bridge in the background ... now you know the rest of the story.
The view from Rest and Be Thankful ...
Jacqui posing by her prospective new cottage in Luss.
A happy dog lives here.
An here’s the happy dog. This one’s for you Gail.
The beautiful cottages of Luss.
Luss is located on Loch Lomand.
This is a very nice way of saying .... Stay out of my parking space!!!
Some colourful wool scarves in a coffee shop in Luss.
Another set of cottages in Luss, all the doors and building have to be painted the same colour by order of city council.
The old grave yard in Luss ... all residents must be dead, by order of city council.
Can you spot the photographer? He's 6 feet under ... exposed that is!!
One of many interesting stones in the grave yard.
Flowers growing from this set of grave stones.
This is the Church of Scotland that is in the centre of the grave yard.
Here’s a great way to get your groceries, Luss still has home delivery.
Fresh fruit and fish, this is better than fighting a grocery store parking lot.
Ken supplied a flash of Yellow tonight as we departed from our hotel in Oban.
That’s a wrap for this evening. Good night from all the photo tour trekkers in Erskine Bridge.
