Sunday Nov 20th, 2016 - Bagan Pagodas and Sunsets

Our second day in Bagan started with an early morning photo shoot at another pagoda, this one had a high plateau you could climb up to and get an early morning view of the region and the thousands of temples. We visited a few other pagodas close by then went into Bagan to explore the markets. We finished the day with another spectacular sunset then we surprised the group with a visit to the home of our guide NuiNui. We were greeted by his three children enjoyed a local drink, Mandalay Rum Sours had a short visit then off to dinner. Tonight we had dinner at a marionette theatre. It was great fun with plenty more photo opportunities. Below is todays selection of photographs.

Entrance to the first pagoda we visited this morning.

What would any good pagoda be without a giant Buddha.

The lacquer is applied by hand and there is 8 to 10 layers inside and out. The lacquer is sap from tree.
