Saturday Nov 26th, 2016 - Village of Chang Khien & More Elephants

This morning, some of the reaming group that did not have a chance to experience the elephant reserve went to spend the day with the elephants while the reaming photographs drove to the mountain temple of Wat Prathat Doi Stump. Then continued up to the mountain village of Chang Khien where some of the 800 inhabitants still retain their traditional hill tribe clothes and culture which dates back 500 years. I traveled back to the elephant reserve so Alexa Coupland provided the images for todays blog. Thanks Alexa for your help and sharing your great images. Tomorrow we visit the floating markets of Damnoen Saduak.

While back at the elephant reserve it was time for Ann, Wendy, Perry and Marian to learn about the elephants and start their adventure.

Getting ready to the feed the elephants is a great way to get to know them.

Sugar cane and bananas are one of the snacks they get plenty of each day.

I hope we were not intruding? Several elephants at the reserve are currently expecting.

Time to cool off and wash up after the ride. Wendy and Ann giving big mama a bath. That was her name.

And nothing like paying back the favour, Perry and Marian get a shower as they leave the pond.

One last shot today of this red dragon fly just as we were getting ready to leave the elephant park.
