Friday July 21st, 2017 - Tibet Temples and Markets
Today we visited Depung Monastery and surrounding region. This monastery is located on a mountain side and required strong legs as there are many steps within the various rooms and levels. The monastery was established near Lhasa in 1416 by Chojey Tashi Palden. The Second Dalai Lama made his residence here in 1494. So much colour and ceremony when you visit a busy working monastery, the worshipers coming and going and all the monks that take up residence.
After lunch we visited, photographed and even did a little shopping in the old quarter local market. This made for some great images.
Enjoy todays selection of images, tomorrow we fly from Lhasa, Tibet to Khatmandu then on to Bhutan for the next leg of our journey.
