Sunrise at the Taj Mahal an angle you've probably never seen.  This was shot from the East side Mosque. Taj Mahal was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Nice work Sidney.

To answer Jim's question, the short answer is Yes. It was a 25 second exposure @ f4.5 and ISO 100. I lightened the shadows and adjusted the colour balance in Lightroom and then used NIK HDR Efex Pro on the single image to very slightly bump up the colours & extend the contrast range (there is actually very little difference between the before and after images). The final step was to apply some noise reduction in Lightroom.

Todays Pic of the Day does not have any major photographic impact, but is meant to serve as a tribute to someone who never gave up and learned to bury bitterness in the name of progression for all mankind.  This is the court yard at Robben Island where Nelson Mandela wrote a journel of his thoughts and experiences while in prison.  He then burried it in the garden to keep it from being found.   "Difficulties break some men but make others. No axe is sharp enough to cut the soul of a sinner who keeps on trying, one armed with the hope that he will rise even in the end."  - Nelson Mandela.
