Guatemala Blog January 21/22nd 2016
Our last day in Guatemala and it was beautiful. We spent the morning photographing in and around the streets in Antigua. The city is beautiful and full of colour. As you look through the photos on todays blog of Antigua you will notice the houses on the streets are specific colours. They are set by city hall and home owners must adhere to these colours. As I said the city is beautiful.
Fuego volcano continued to erupt through the evening, there was more activity the last few days than over the past couple of years. In fact the volcano has erupted 15 times since early 2015. Guatemala City airport was closed and all flights cancelled from 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. January 21st because of the ash and debris being sent 6.5 km into the air from the volcano.
We are now heading home and have had an amazing experience here in Guatemala. This is a beautiful country rich with culture and history. Enjoy our last day of Guatemala images and check back February 26th as we share our images during our Weekend with the Wolves trek to Montebello, Quebec.
