September 21st and 22nd Masa Mara National Park
This is actually the 24th of September but as I said last night we had a few nights we where we had very poor internet speed which meant I was unable to upload updates.
So tonight I’m still catching up and here are images from the 21st and 22nd. By tomorrow evening we will be caught up again.
We had almost two days of game drives or safaris in Masa Mara National Park, below are the balance of images from those two days. We were very fortunate to be able to witness and capture the great migration of the wildebeest across the Mara River on the 22nd and have included images of the most amazing sight.
We are now in Tanzania and have completed our first day of game drives. Enjoy today’s selection of images.
The first shot is a landscape out on the Masa Mara during our morning game drive

One of our jeeps pulling out a van that got stuck, Owen can be seen in the red

Two zebra adding to the landscape

Ostrich walking by
Look up way up

We came across this lioness enjoying the cool shade

Nothing like a picnic lunch when on safari, Brian, Vicky, Albert, Christine and Lorna

And a nice big tree for shade

This is the edge of the Mara river as we waited for the wildebeest who were gathering on the other side of the river. Some times this can take days to start. We were luck and it all took place while we were there.

It only takes one then the stampede is on. They are nervous as the Mara river is full of hungry crocs.

Then in a blink it begins

You can hardly see the wildebeest for the dust they stir up

10’s of thousands cross at once, and it is mass confusion

Reaching the other side

Safe

A wide shot to give you an idea of the amount of animals

One of the many hungry crocs just waiting

This is a hippo ramp and how these big boys get on the high river banks

Momma and her baby

Another momma and her baby

Giraffe horizon

This monkey wanted to hitch a ride

Male lion in the afternoon shade

A white breasted goway bird

Turtle crossing

It’s even mating season for the lizards

So many animals as far as your eye can see

Zebra’s and a giraffe

A monitor crossing our path
Baby cheetahs having fun

A mom cheetah and her cubs
That’s a wrap for this evening, more from our Africa adventure tomorrow. Good night.
