Bonavista to Rocky Harbour in Gros Morne National Park
Today was our long travel day, departed Bonavista at 8:30 a.m. this morning. We had a 35 minute photo shoot at Dungeon National Park we departed for Rocky Harbour in Gros Morne National Park on the west coast of Newfoundland. The drive was approximately 8 hours. We reached Gander by lunch time and were shooting inside the Park by 6:00 p.m. this evening.
We made several stops at various look-out points as we traveled deeper into the park. After settling into our hotel and supper we took the short walk across the road to photograph the beautiful sunset we had this evening. The weather is much different on the west coast as opposed to what we left on the east coast of the province.
Tomorrow we take the 3.5 kilometer hike to Western Brook Pond were we board a ship that will take us on a tour deep into the fresh water fjords of Gros Morne. We will also be visiting Skeleton Cove Lighthouse.
That’s it for this evenings post from Rocky Harbour in Gros Morne National Park here in Newfoundland.
Some of the group getting in the last shots of the harbour in Bonavista. Ross, Gail, Ela and Christine taking a few images, the light was great for deep colours.
Brian working on a few last shots.
Val down by the harbour too.
OK, me too.
We made a stop at Dungeon Provincial Park which is close by Bonavista, we had to give this location a miss yesterday due to the high winds. This morning there was fog, but it added to the experience and the photography. This is a shot of the Dungeon caves.
In Scotland last year it was a pig, this year goats ... Brian????
A couple of shots of the coastline the first one is a merged HDR.
You can see something caught Sue's and Terry's eye ... nice work on the feather girls.
The next series were shot as we entered Gros Morne National Park this afternoon.
