Tableland Mountains, Trout River, Woody Point and Deer Lake,
As we wrap up the last day of the Newfoundland Photo Tour we departed Rocky Harbour and visited several locations as we worked our way towards our final destination Deer Lake.
Our first shoot this morning was in the Tablelands we visited the Discover Centre, then took the hike over the contrasting bad lands. What a change to the lush green we have experienced until now. The weather was perfect and we actually extended the hike portion by another hour as quite a few of the group discovered a small waterfall (there is still snow at the top) and hike up to photograph it. There were many wild flowers, birds and other items to photograph along the trail.
Then we visited Trout River were we had lunch at the Sunset Cafe, thanks Anne for great hospitality. After shakes, ice cream and many other treats we spent some time at Woody Point. Woody Point is a quaint village at the edge of Gros Morne National Park and the Tablelands mountain range. We had fun watching some of the village children fish and playing in the streets. If you talk to Brian, I think he visited another cafe and had some pretty good chocolate cake.
We are now in Deer Lake and getting ready for an early night, as we have a very early connecting flight to Halifax before continuing on to Toronto. We have also included a few shots from last nights farewell dinner.
Thanks to everyone who followed the blog from home and my co-host Sue Southon for all her help.
Good Night from the Trekkers who are now in Deer Lake and preparing to head home, we will do a wrap up post to let you know that everyone is home safe tomorrow.

And finally we leave you with one last photo this is an Inukshuk that Brian Boyd made today at the tablelands. An Inukshuk means in the likeness of a human in the Inuit language. The traditional meaning of the inukshuk is "Someone was here" or"you are on the right path" Well in this case Brian created it to symbolize the Photo Trekkers were here and fell in love with the beautiful province of Newfoundland. Safe journeys home tomorrow everyone.
