Fri Aug 7th & Sat Aug 8th: Greenwich to London
We are now in London for the next thee days and I’ve combined Friday and Saturday’s blog post as we had a couple of late nights and early mornings.
Friday we departed Canterbury and headed for London. Enroute we stopped in Greenwich were we visited the Cutty Sark and the Painted Hall where Lord Nelson laid in state. The Painted Hall is not as much a visit because of Lord Nelson but because of the beautiful paintings. It is often referred to as the Sistine Chapel of England and it is true. It took James Thornhill 19 years to complete the job. It is magnificent. The Painted Hall is located on the grounds of the Royal Naval Academy which is now part of the University in Greenwich.
Later in the afternoon we arrived in London and did a quick city tour for our photographer guests to see the highlights, then visited St.Paul’s Cathedral before heading back to our hotel.
Saturday morning we headed out for our first day of photography in London. We visited and toured Tower Bridge early this morning. This afternoon we walked through the Green Park near Buckingham Palace, visited the Marble Arch and returned back to our hotel. This evening we went back down to Tower bridge for a night shoot.
We have a nice selection of images for you to enjoy this evening. Tomorrow will be another day of exploring London.
