New York City Photo Tour - Sunday May 20th, 2012
What a better way to start our last morning in New York than a Sunday morning stroll in the park. Central Park that is ...
Our first photo shoot this morning was a walk through Central Park. We started at the 57th street entrance and explored and photographed our way thru to 72nd Street. We took some time and visited Strawberry Fields, which is the memorial gardens to John Lennon. We exited the park at the Dakota, this famous housing complex was made famous when John Lennon was killed outside it’s front door.
We then took the subway downtown to visit the SOHO district, and China town. We made a one hour detour and paid a visit to B&H Photo. What trip to New York City would be complete without a visit to B&H. It was great fun ... $$$. You name it B&H Photo has it, just to experience the store is amazing.
We spent some time in China Town. As you will see once again with tonights photographs, every few miles as you travel across the city, it offer up many different photo opportunities.
This evening we toured NYC on a private tour on a double decker bus. The second floor was open and perfect for photography. We visited a few highlight areas of the city, then visited the Skyline Park, which is a series of parklands, ponds and gardens that have been made from the old railway lines in the Meat Packing district. We then boarded a boat and sailed out to the Statue of Liberty for some sunset photography, followed by dinner in Little Italy.
We were supposed to finish the evening with a visit to the top of the Rock, this is the new observation tower at the Rockefeller centre. Sad to report, it was a busy day and they sold out at 9:30 p.m. this evening. Not all is lost as we will visit the Rockefeller centre tomorrow morning before leaving the city to return home.
