Queen Charlotte Islands Photo Tour July 2014

Join us as we depart for Queen Charlotte Islands, now officially called Haida Gwaii, which means "the Islands of the People".  Located about 128 km off the northwest coast of British Columbia and 720 km from Vancouver, Haida Gwaii is a photographers paradise. Here you will find one of the last stands of the super old growth rainforest in the world, hosting some of the world's largest spruce and cedar trees. The islands are also host to bald eagles and both the smallest and largest species of black bear. As we travel off shore we hope to photograph sea lions and orcas.  Working with our local guide, we have selected some of the islands prime locations for photography. Check back daily for images and stories from our adventure July 8th to 16th, and don't forget to leave us your comments, we love to hear from you as we travel.

The Queen Charlotte Track offers a mix of steep climbs which lead to endless 360 degree views of Marlborough Sounds and on a good day you can even see over to the North Island of New Zealand!
