Weekend with the Wolves Photo Tour - "The chill of the howl"

Weekend with the Wolves Photo Tour - Wolves are legendary because of their spine-tingling howl, and daunting stare. A lone wolf will howl to attract the attention of his pack, while communal howls may send territorial messages from one pack to another. In addition to their fine senses, swift movements, and beautiful fur coats, they make great subjects for photography.

I’m very excited to share the wolf experience with you and even more the beautiful surrounds of Parc Omega and the region of Montebello, Quebec. Parc Omega is also home to Buffalo, Wapitis, Black Bears, Red Deer, Alpine Ibex, Wild Boar and many species of Birds, including Birds of Prey.

Weekend with the Wolves Photo Tour Itinerary - February 22nd to 24th, 2019

Friday, Feb 22nd, 2019 Our three-day trek will begin Friday morning as we depart from the Staybridge Suites on Exeter Road in London (Please contact us as other pick-up locations including Woodstock enroute are available). Our journey to Montebello, Quebec will be via motor coach by Cherrey Coach Lines. Our travel time will be approximately eight hours and we will arrive at the Chateau Montebello around 5:00 p.m. There will be ample time to settle in have dinner, and familiarize ourselves with the hotel during the first evening. This is a beautiful winter retreat resort in Montebello, Quebec.

Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 Breakfast then meet in the lobby where we will board our motorcoach and take the short drive to Parc Omega. Once at the park we will change from our coach to a park coach that is equipped with windows that open and each photographer will have their own window.  For the next few hours, we will spend time exploring the park and with the aid of our park driver locate and photograph the wolves and other animals set in a beautiful winter backdrop.

We will also have time to spend exploring the various walking trails the park has to offer. Each trail is located strategically with boardwalks and the best opportunities to view and photograph the natural surroundings, animals, and birds.  During our visit to the park, we will make time for a coffee break and lunch.

Saturday afternoon we will head back into the park and photograph at the wolf compound. This is a great location to spend time photographing the wolves with beautiful forest and hills for our backdrop. This evening there will be time after dinner at our hotel to review your work and work with James on your photographs. If weather permits we may venture outdoors and do some night photography around the Chateau, as it is beautifully illuminated at night.

Sunday, February 24th, 2019 Morning breakfast, check-out and begin our journey back home. We will visit Plaisance Falls which is located about five kilometers north of the village of Plaisance. The 188-foot cascading waterfalls was once the site of a thriving mill town know as North Nation Mills. Today little remains of the village’s bustling past, except the spectacular waterfalls and the surrounding parklands, it has become a place of great photographic opportunity. We plan to make photos stops in Ottawa and Hull on both ways of our journey.

Montebello, Park Omega and Pleasance Water Falls is a great region for a weekend of photography. We look forward to you joining us as we experience and photograph the wolves of Park Omega.  

The cost of our Weekend with the Wolves Photo Tour  $599.99 per person CAD based on double occupancy plus $78.00 HST. Single supplement is available for an additional $265.00 CAD plus HST. This tour departs from London, Woodstock and additional locations available upon request.

Your tour includes:

• Round trip motor coach via Cherrey Coach Lines to Montebello, Quebec

• Departures from London, and Woodstock, other locations available upon request,

• All coach transportation during the tour,

• Two-night accommodations at Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello,

• Breakfast buffet each morning at Le Chateau Montebello,

• Admission, Driver Guide, and Transportation within Park Omega

• Workshops and visit to Plaisance Water Falls

A $100.00 non-refundable deposit is due upon booking and balance on February 8th, 2019. We recommend the purchase of travel and health insurance at the time of booking as this tour is out of the province.
