Galapagos Islands - Day 6 Island of Bartolome and Sullivan Bay

Up early, then off on our zodiacs to land on the volcanic island of Bartolome. Working to catch the sunrise and take advantage of the cool morning air we took the boardwalk and stairs and hiked to the top of the volcano. Great landscape shots as we when higher and great panoramic views once we reached the top. Pinnacle rock dominates the landscape and makes for great photography. Later in the morning we returned to the ship for breakfast and repositioned for a morning shoreline photoshoot looking for penguins and snorkelling opportunities. Later in the afternoon we landed on the volcanic rock base of Sullivan Bay and explore this 100 year old volcanic rock flow. It was interesting to see how the gases released when cooling form all sorts of interesting patterns in the black rock.
