Saturday May 13th, 2017 - Steam Train Hoorn to Medemblik, & Sea Cruise
Another fun day here in the Netherlands ... This morning we traveled to Hoorn where we boarded an 1800's steam train to journey to Medemblik. Over the course of our 1 hour 50 minute train ride we passed many tulip and peonies fields, and many small villages. We then took a boat curies on the Ljsselmeer with lunch onboard. Then later in the afternoon had time to visit and photograph at the Enkhuizen open air museum. The museum depicts the life people led in the local fishermans villages on the Zuidersea from the 1880's through 1932. A very interesting and colourful day.
Tomorrow we will have a day of flowers as we visit Keukenhof. The largest spring garden in the world. There are over 7 million flowering bulbs, indoor and outdoor floral displays. This will definitely be a day of colour.
Enjoy todays selection of photographs.
