July 26th, 2017 - Mountain Pass, Rice Field Hike & Fertility Temple

This morning we hiked though the village of Punakha visiting various areas including a walk though the layers of rice fields. Then we visited a Buddhist temple dedicated to fertility. The Phallus symbol can be seen all over Tibet but is prevalent in the village of Punakha. Later in the morning we traveled form  Punakha to Paro which will took a good portion of the day as we stopped at various locations for photos along the way. We drove west via Dochula pass 3,080 meters but cloud cover prevented us from seeing the Bhutan Himalaya peaks. 

We are now back in Paro and tomorrow will hike the 900 meters to Tigers Nest one of the most scenic regions in Bhutan. Enjoy todays selection of images. Click on the link below to see todays photo blog gallery. Good night from the Trekkers in Bhutan.
