China Day 5 - June 19th, 2018 Farmer Artist Village Xi’an
Another great day of colour and experiences in Xi’an region of China today. We departed the city and headed into the countryside to visit a small village where local farming is their priority. This particular village is unique in the way that one of the farmers is an artist and has brought the village alive with his work. Zhang Qingy was born in Nansuo village. In 1973 he entered the farms painting school as he has loved art right from a small child. Mr. Zhang is now a well known artist had traveled the country including visits to America and now heads the farms school. One of his joys is teaching young children art and spends a considerable amount of time teaching and sharing his art skills with the upcoming generation of artists. We were also treated to a cultural demonstration including a traditional dragon dance and other dances that occur during the Chinese New Year. Some of our group had a chance to take part too. Below is the link to the images from todays visit to the village. This evening we fly from Xi’an to Guilan. This region is famous for the scenic river Li and the limestone monolith mountains.
