Coming in for a feeding - North Seymour Island.
Galapagos Islands Blog Day 3 Arrival and North Seymour
Early this morning we flew from Quito to the Galapagos Islands. Landing on the island of Baltra at one of the two airports on the islands we met our naturalist guide and took a short bus ride to our ship.
We had time to board, settle in, have lunch and do a muster drill prior to sailing to our first island, North Seymour. Our first island visit did not disappoint, frigate birds, blue-footed boobies, sea lions, land iguanas, marine iguanas and amazing land and seascapes. It was a great afternoon and remained on the island until close to sunset.
This evening we had a welcome dinner, our first briefing for the next day's activities and an opportunity to meet our crew. We toasted with a welcome drink then settled in for the night and our night sailing to our next island on our itinerary in the north of the Galapagos, Genovesa. The map above shows today and this evening sailing. Enjoy today's photos and more tomorrow from the island of Genovesa.
