We were up and on the water early this morning to photograph on the high cliffs of Genovesa in search of the Short Eared Owl, the Nazca Booby and Red Footed Booby. We were rewarded with some really great shots, including some of our photographers witnessing a chick breaking out if the egg. Thanks to Brian Harris for the above shot today. The short eared owl is the dominate bird on the island and therefore hunts the storm petrels during the day. We had some time for snorkelling this afternoon, then late this afternoon did a wet landing on the beach to photograph nesting red footed boobys, finches and tons of sea lions. Another great day in the Galapagos. Tonight we sail back across the equator and on to the volcano at Baltra. Good night from all the Trekkers in the Galapagos Islands.
